A Message from Miranda Wells – Founder of Soquilichi Rescue Ranch

My name is Miranda Wells, and for over 20 years, I’ve dedicated my life—every hour of every day—to saving animals in need across Australia. I’ve never drawn a wage or sought personal reward. Instead, I’ve poured my heart and soul into rescuing animals from neglect, abuse, and high-kill pounds, focusing on those others leave behind.

Soquilichi Rescue Ranch (SRR), we specialise in the forgotten ones: the “undesirable,” the misunderstood, the disabled, the feral, the broken. We fight for those who are often overlooked—because they matter.

Our work is raw, relentless, and hands-on. From feeding, medicating, cleaning, and comforting nearly 300 animals, to vet runs, late-night emergencies, and speaking with the public—this is my everyday. But the hardest part isn’t the emotional toll or physical exhaustion—it’s finding the funds to keep going.

We don’t own land. We don’t have facilities. Yet we continue to save lives.

Every dollar raised helps keep SRR alive. We dream of one day owning a sanctuary—a permanent home where animals can be safe forever. But we can’t do it alone.
